Officers of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Henry J. Watterson Council #1711 of Westfield, present James Vari, District Deputy of the New Jersey Knights of Columbus at the June meeting, with a donation check of $2000 to the Knights of Columbus Ukraine Solidarity Relief Fund. Also present was Rev. Fr. William Benedetto, of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Mountainside, who serves as the Council’s Chaplain. This fund supports the Knights’ Mercy Centers constructed throughout Ukraine, providing food and shelter to those ravaged by war. The Westfield Council wishes to thank all those who participated in their recent Lenten Drive-Thru Fish Fry, which supported this donation. The NJ State Knights of Columbus, made up of 350+ NJ Councils, raised and donated $10,000 to the Alzheimer’s New Jersey organization on Monday, January 10, 2022.
One week before Christmas, Knights of Columbus Council 17254 in Paterson, NJ, distribute coats and toys to help families in need outside the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
On Tuesday November 23, 2021 the NJ State Knights in partnership with the Passaic County Sheriff's Office distributed 288 coats to children at the Roberto Clemente School in Paterson.
It is with extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of our State Deputy, Vinnie Tavormina. Vinnie was called home by our Lord just before midnight on January 26, 2021. His battle with COVID-19 was fought valiantly and bravely over these last two weeks. Please keep Vinnie, Tamara, and his family in your prayers as they work through this difficult time of loss.
